Gas prices continued to drop in every region of the continental United States this week, and in most cases, it's falling faster than it was. In the midwest, the drop has really slowed down.
And shame on me, I posted last week that gas won't drop much further. In my defense, that post was looking towards 2009 prices.
Gas is down to $3.44/gallon at the Costco here in Lancaster, PA, my "reference price". That's seven cents cheaper than last week. What's more, the local stations are starting to get more aggressive about pricing. Tom's on Harrisburg Pike by the Waffle House is at $3.45. They're a discounter, but this is the first I've seen anyone in that part of town come within a penny of Costco. That matches the price of Turkey Hill on Lincoln Highway next to WalMart. You need a membership to buy gas at Costco; that Turkey Hill is often the cheapest place for the general public to buy gas.
