Camping This Weekend?

Kid : "Mom, I'm starving. Will my pancakes be long?"

Mom: "No they will be flat and round!!"

Camping?

If you're going camping this 4th of July weekend, trying to stretch those dollars, or just because you enjoy the great outdoors, you might want to think about pancakes for breakfast. They're easy to fix with mix in a bottle - all you need to do is to add water.

I've written about the folks at Little Crow before. They're the CoCo Wheats folks. They make pancake mix in a little jug, just for that purpose. And you can toss the jug in the campfire when you're done, instead of having to wash more dishes while roughing it.

Don't forget all the various fruits you can put in pancakes. Bananas are popular, of course, and blueberries, but they suggest strawberries, apples, cranberries, even chocolate chips.

If you head for their website, you can sign up for coupons. They'll send you ones for
* CoCo Wheats Hot Cereal
* Fryin' Magic or Bakin' Miracle Seasoned Coating Mix
* Miracle Maize Corn Bread & Muffin Mix
* FastShake Pancake Mix
* FastShake Pancake Mix Family Size

Free Food?

Now, the deal is over, officially, but you might want to ask them if they have any more coupons for free Fryin' Magic or Bakin' Miracle seasoned coating mix. Usually, these outfits print up more than they need, just to be sure, and if they have coupons left over, and you ask nicely, they're often glad to pass one on to you.

You might want to note that I don't have any connection with these folks, other than as a long-time consumer. No advertising dollars or anything. I grew up on CoCo Wheats, and I once drove past their building when I was on a trip. They're in Warsaw, Indiana, and they're a little company, still owned by the family that founded it. People who have an emotional tie to a company often treat their customers especially well, because they want you to think as highly of what they produce as they do.
