On The Inauguration

"We are here today not simply to pay tribute to our first patriots but to take up the work that they began"
--- Barack Obama, earlier today.

Little Brudder points out, quite correctly, that it will be a historic moment on Tuesday, when Barack Obama takes the oath of office.

We've been told, for years, that the rest of the world hates us because we are successful. In fact, we're getting cheers from all around the world, because we're coming closer to achieving the American ideal. It isn't just Michelle Obama who is really proud of the American people for supporting a black man for president. The rest of us are really proud, too.

“First African-American president. Better be good.”
--- Malia Obama, 10, to her father, several days ago.

Or maybe the rest of the world is just breathing a sigh of relief. After 8 years of stupidity, we seem to have someone who has some sense.

In any case, Little Brudder says that since Tuesday will be a historic moment, that means that anything that happens today will be a pre-historic moment, doesn't it?

Forgive him. He lived in Texas for a few years, and he's never been quite right since....
